What you'll be doing
As an Associate, Client Services - Global KYC Periodic Risk Review, you will be responsible for the quality of the Analysts' work, which is to conduct Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Client (AML/KYC) due diligence and complete related projects and initiatives by understanding the enterprise policies and standards pertaining to AML/ATF, regulatory, and tax reporting requirements.
Reporting to the Director of Global Risk Review, you'll be accountable for successfully completing all assignments and delivering high-quality results as per the agreed-upon objectives and timelines. The primary objective is to review the KYC information obtained from research or from the client via outreach by the Analysts, to complete the AML Risk Review cases of Capital Markets institutional clients on a timely basis, as per all applicable AML regulatory requirements.

How you’ll succeed
Client Service: You will follow client service procedures and processes to ensure accurate, smooth, and seamless AML/KYC Risk Reviews for Capital Markets clients are completed accurately, efficiently, and before the schedule review due date. When needed, you will contact front office teams and/or clients to request the required documentation, follow up to explain the purpose of the Risk Review to gain their buy-in and disseminate relevant information to the respective internal teams. The objective is to maintain strong AML governance but minimizing friction in client and operational processes.
Collaboration: You will act as coach to the Analysts and as the escalation point of contact for front office and internal teams on assigned cases/clients. In addition, you will need to keep open lines of communication to coordinate with the business supervisor and responsible teams, to complete their respective tasks in the client onboarding system in order to bring all AML Risk Review cases to completion on a timely basis.
Due Diligence: You will ensure accurate data is captured for all clients in the KYC systems – CORA/Fenergo and relevant application(s). Leveraging your high level of knowledge of Capital Markets business products as well as AML/KYC requirements in Canada, the US, UK, Luxembourg and Asia Pacific as documented in the Client Services (CS) Procedures, you will partner with peers in the CS onboarding and offboarding teams to provide accurate information on AML requirements and ensure timely completion of global KYC periodic Risk Reviews. You will conduct thorough assessments of risk factors, such as adverse media, that may impact the client’s AML risk and rating profile, enabling you to make timely recommendations/decisions and take appropriate action as necessary for high-risk clients.
Projects and Initiatives: You’ll participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of AML/KYC review processes, including automation and digitization using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. You’ll support the implementation of new AML requirements, update internal procedures, and contribute to the rollout of new AML/KYC platforms such as Fenergo and WorldCheck by participating in user acceptance testing and providing valuable feedback. Additionally, you’ll lead or support training sessions to ensure consistent application of AML/KYC standards and procedures across the team.
Quality Control and Assurance: You will collaborate with Capital Markets Centralized Governance and Control (CGC) team to develop and refine QA frameworks for samples pertaining to periodic reviews, checklists, and reporting tools used in ongoing monitoring through QA testing by the CGC. The objective is to minimize QA findings, identify opportunities for improvement and take corrective actions promptly to address any QA findings identified.
Who you are
You have a degree or diploma in Business Administration or Economics; Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist certificate (CAMS) is preferred.
You can demonstrate knowledge and 3–5 years of experience in AML/KYC AML Risk Reviews for Capital Markets clients as well as in Capital Markets infrastructure, applications, and businesses/products.
