As an Assistant IT Technical Officer (Workplace/Infrastructure), you are responsible for managing, securing, and ensuring the continuity of a technical IT environment within an industrial context. You work closely with internal teams, software vendors, and end users to ensure that upgrades, interventions, and security processes are carried out smoothly and with minimal risk. Your expertise ensures that Technical PCs (TPCs) and Site Security systems remain secure, up to date, and fully operational.

System & Software Management:

  • Coordinate and perform Operating System (OS) upgrades on Technical PCs, ensuring no downtime and improved system stability.
  • Execute OS patching on TPCs and resolve any patch-related issues or error messages.
  • Perform backup software upgrades and onboard new systems to enhance backup reliability and coverage.
  • Install, configure, and maintain monitoring software to accurately monitor systems and network components.
  • Manage and update antivirus solutions to ensure optimal endpoint protection.
  • Configure and use Remote Desktop tools to provide efficient technical support for TPCs.
  • Upgrade applications to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Ensure systems are correctly structured within Active Directory to enable optimal policy enforcement.
  • Operate in line with modern cybersecurity standards, focusing on risk mitigation, compliance, and best practices.

Risk Management & Coordination:

  • Carefully coordinate all interventions with relevant stakeholders and software vendors to minimize operational risks.
  • Perform full system backups prior to upgrades to prevent data loss.

Network Management & Technical Support:

  • Maintain and manage IP addressing to ensure a structured and well-documented network environment.
  • Collaborate with network and operational teams to deploy new requests and implement network configurations.

Projects & Specialized Technical Tasks:

  • Actively contribute to the modernization of Site Security systems, including access control, CCTV, and security software.
  • Provide hands-on support for PLC migration projects, working closely with OT and engineering teams.

Documentation & Asset Management:

  • Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation.
  • Manage and maintain an up-to-date asset inventory within the technical IT environment.

  • Experience with Technical PC environments, industrial sites, or OT systems.
  • Strong focus on cybersecurity, reliability, and risk management.
  • Solid basic IT knowledge with a strong interest in technology and current Windows platforms.
  • Knowledge of WSUS, backup solutions, monitoring tools, antivirus platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with PLC environments; knowledge of Beckhoff is an advantage.
  • Eager to learn and motivated to continuously expand technical expertise.
  • Clear, professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills across internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Service-oriented, well-structured, and proactive in proposing solutions that improve system performance and user experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of autonomy; able to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable working in a small, close-knit team with short communication lines.
  • Proficient in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong awareness of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, always working in accordance with applicable safety guidelines.
  • Experience with procedures and workflows in a multinational environment.
