Application Support Developer

Job Summary:

The Application Support Developer II is responsible for providing primary support for third party systems, internal custom systems and external websites, as well as assisting with the development of systems for the firm.

Job Duties:

  • Manages third party and custom applications systems
  • Applies patches and security updates to the firm’s systems
  • Administers and maintains the firm’s public internet and intranet sites
  • Builds and maintains system documentation
  • Escalate critical issues to management as appropriate
  • Implements strategies resulting in timely resolutions
  • Conducts Level II support for specified systems
  • Collaborates across IT functions regarding implementing server lease replacements and application upgrades
  • Acts as liaison for production support tickets for specified systems
  • Develops custom applications and/or third party systems
  • Oversees testing and development of non-routine fixes
  • Serves as the primary systems support resource during non-business hours
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field, preferred

Experience:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience with managing and supporting Enterprise Application Systems, OR two (2) or more years of experience with developing applications utilizing ASP.NET, VB.NET and /or C#, required
  • One (1) or more years of experience developing SQL queries, required
  • One (1) or more years of experience with developing integration package, stored procedures and database schemas utilized SQL Server, preferred 
  • Prior experience with servings as a technical support role, required 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business applications, required
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with software development methodologies, preferred    

License/Certifications:

  • Certifications in Microsoft MCTS / MCITP / MCPD, preferred

Software:

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server, preferred

Language:

  • N/A

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills
  • Capacity to work in a deadline-driven environment while handle multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details
  • Capable of successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Capable of working well under pressure while dealing with unexpected problems in a professional manner
  • Capacity to communicate and interact with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to interact and build relationships and consensus among people
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Firm software development concepts
  • Immediate to advanced knowledge and the ability to apply advanced software development principles
  • Ability to research and resolve problems, acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant software solutions and support firm policies and procedures

 

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. 

National Range: $90,000 - $100,000
Maryland Range: $90,000 - $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $90,000 - $100,000
