We are currently seeking a PR Manager for our communications team in Japan that will report into the Head of Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and implementation of PR initiatives for Apple Watch and our broader health and fitness ecosystem, with an emphasis on social-first, content campaigns.
We are looking for candidates that possess strong PR and communications skills, along with a consistent track record of creative content creation and a passion for consumer technology and/or consumer lifestyle. Ideal profiles are focused on cultivating new relationships with media and creators, and skilled at developing unique narratives and storylines that resonate with online audiences.
Description
This role will be responsible for proactively managing PR activities to showcase how Apple, specifically Apple Watch and our broader health and fitness ecosystem empower our customers to live a better day through breakthrough technology that enhances overall wellbeing.
Minimum Qualifications
BS/BA or equivalent experience
6+ years experience in public relations, influencer relations, media or PR agency in Japan
Preferred Qualifications
Effectively builds formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization.
Develops and delivers effective communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
Analyses complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
Understands internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs.
Experience in media relations and developing a network of media contacts in health, fitness, tech, design and cultural platforms
Successfully delivered creative PR and experiential campaigns that have created meaningful impact
Self-motivated, possess a positive team-player attitude and passionate about consumer technology. Self-starter who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities
Able to work with ambiguity and on complex topics across multiple jurisdictions
Able to influence and gain alignment from others in sensitive situations—without damage to the relationship
