Logistics Manager (EMEA)
Purpose of the Job : The position will lead the end-to-end logistics strategy, execution, and optimization across the region. This role is critical in managing a complex inbound supply chain (heavy imports from Asia) and outbound distribution across multiple EU-based RDCs, LDCs and manufacturing location in HU. Also manage logistics for S.Africa operations Major Responsibilities : (1) Logistics management (Strategy, Inbound Outbound management, collaboration with Procurement and Planning teams) - Define and implement the EMEA logistics strategy aligned with global supply chain objectives.. - Drive cost-to-serve improvements while maintaining high customer service levels - Manage distribution from GYO to RDCs, LDCs and customers. - Optimize Road, rail, intermodal transport networks, Last-mile delivery for B2B customers (KAs, OEMs) and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met across diverse markets. - Lead freight rate optimisation (spot versus contract) Container planning and utilization - Provide critical inputs to Procurement team for Carrier selection and contract negotiations. -Oversee port operations, customs clearance, and inland transportation into EU RDCs. - Collaborate with Planning and S OP teams to align inventory positioning with demand variability and reduce working capital without impacting availability (2) Warehouse management - Execute regional warehouse strategy. - Design and optimize warehouse layout for inventory positioning and responsiveness. - Drive automation, digitalization, and throughput improvements. - Oversee management of 4 big warehouses in Europe (GYO, BE, Gyor, and Bratislava) and LDCs to drive performance aligned with business priorities. (3) 3PLs Carrier Management - Lead selection, contracting, and performance management of logistics partners. - Establish KPIs for: On-time delivery, Cost efficiency and Inventory accuracy. - Build strategic partnerships with key logistics providers. - Drive 3PLs performance to contracted SLAs through structured governance mechanism. - Collaborate with the LSPs to identify cost and efficiency improvement initaitives and drive them to fruition. (4) Risk management Resilience and Digital Transformation - Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions (ports, shipping lanes, geopolitical risks). - Diversify routes, ports, and logistics partners. - Improve supply chain visibility (track trace, control towers). - Enable dynamic 3PL capacity management - particularly ahead of peak periods, including external storage strategy requirements. Identify, share and mitigate risks to capacity and/or country plans. - Plan capacity requirements with the 3PLs to ensure a fit-for-purpose logistic set up and support business growth ambition. - Drive adoption of logistics technologies namely, TMS (Transport Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) Real-time visibility platforms - Leverage data analytics for cost and Lead Time reduction (5) Leadership responsibilities - Lead multi-country Logistics team - Lead a team of 6 direct reports with an extended team - Build strong regional leadership bench and functional expertise. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement accountability. Relevant Experience : - Bachelor's or Master's in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management or Engineering - 12 to 18 years in logistics/supply chain roles, with significant leadership experience - Demonstrated work experience in managing 3PLs and process optimization - Proven track record managing complex, multi-country logistics networks - Strong experience in manufacturing supply chains (preferably tyres, automotive or heavy industry) - Strategic thinker with execution excellence - Strong stakeholder management across regions and functions - Crisis management and problem-solving mindset - High ownership and results orientationead multi-country Logistics team - Highly collaborative Why join us?
