Job Description:

GTB Financial Institutions ("FIs") provides Canadian payment clearing and settlement services to financial institutions globally who fall within our strategy and risk appetite. As an integral team member in FI coverage, you will have responsibility for managing product profitability, provide exceptional client servicing, act as first line of defense for risk and internal compliance, as well as support a broader TDS wide client relationship management mandate. Effective and impactful FI coverage means delivering a one-TD experience to our FI clients and prospects, developing cross-franchise partnerships.

Job Scope

The Analyst will report to the Head of Account Management in the Financial Institutions division in Global Transaction Banking.  Accountabilities for the Analyst role includes (but not limited to):

  • Dynamic, client-facing position directly supporting the origination team by managing accounts and nurturing relationships with our existing Financial Institution (FI) clients.

  • Collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Regional Head, and Global Head of Financial Institutions, assisting in all facets of business operations, including administrative, transactional and relationship management related activities.

  • Respond to client escalations promptly and professionally, upholding the highest standards of service and support throughout every interaction.

  • Handle account opening and client onboarding processes, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, with careful attention to detail and compliance with internal policies.

  • Prepare professional proposals, pitch decks, service reviews, briefing notes, and call reports, helping to drive business growth and maintain strong client connections.

  • Respond to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and various client questionnaires with thorough and timely information.

  • Support payment activity monitoring to ensure GTB credit lines remain within approved limits. Proactively request credit limit adjustments when needed, demonstrating responsible risk management.

  • Conduct research and detailed analysis on markets, industries, clients, products, and pricing, providing valuable insights to guide business decisions.

  • Assist in Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews for both new and existing clients, including collecting and organizing documentation and ensuring all requirements are met.

  • Ensure monthly billing is completed accurately, including fee collection and interest charges/payments, contributing to the smooth operation of client accounts.

  • Regularly engage with clients by attending formal meetings and social events, strengthening relationships and expanding business opportunities with both current clients and prospects.

  • Contribute to the sales process and help develop strategic relationship-building initiatives for clients and prospects, supporting business growth.

  • Collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with Global Operations and various teams within GTB (such as Product Management, Compliance, and Network Management) as well as other business groups throughout TD Securities both in Canada and the U.S., including Investment Banking, Global Markets, DCM, etc.

  • Support the implementation of new products and services, including negotiating legal documentation, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Maintain a strong focus on credit and operational risk management, demonstrating diligence and professionalism at all times.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and compliance with the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures, promoting a culture of integrity and responsibility.

  • Stay informed of the latest and most innovative GTB products and services, continuously seeking opportunities to learn and grow within the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Strong emotional intelligence (EQ), with the ability to build positive working relationships.

  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach, showing curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid analytical skills with an interest in business and financial analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge Power BI is an asset.

  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to high professional, ethical, and business standards.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work non‑traditional hours, as business needs require.

  • Experience providing client support in a corporate or institutional environment is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of payment systems and operations, such as wire payments, paper clearing, and the Canadian payments settlement system, is an asset.

  • Familiarity with credit administration processes (e.g., CAIRO) is an asset.

  • Relevant industry experience or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CTP) are highly desirable.

  • A university degree is required; a master’s degree is an asset.

  • Proficiency in French is an asset.
