Job Summary:

Drives the design chain value proposition by generating the greatest number of design wins in technologies and registrations for customers engaged in product design resulting in growing business. Interface with the engineering departments of customers and suppliers. Performs a variety of product, technical and engineering functions including but not limited to: pre/post sales support, research, design and development.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understand all major components of Analog & Power Management products and how they should be used.
  • Staying abreast and trained in Analog & Power Management product portfolios
  • Analysis of customer system and hardware requirements.
  • Troubleshooting hardware issues at any stage of the design.
  • Work closely with other FAEs to understand customer systems, diagnose issues, and implement new features.
  • Assist customers with feature implementation from a system architecture and platform level.
  • Replicate customer hardware issues in our labs and use appropriate test equipment to further diagnose.
  • Promptly address customer technical questions via email, phone and online video conference when necessary.
  • Communicate customer feedback to factory to help improve supplier's products and better align with customer needs.
  • Track customer program progress with Avnet and Supplier Sales.
  • Act as technical liaison between the customer and factory personnel for all hardware matters.
  • A thorough understanding of product lifecycles and the ability to design a full solution based on the customers expectation of product performance, lifecycles and total costs.
  • Attend internal and external technical training to complete and maintain certification as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • 5+ years related experience with experience on embedded systems design
  • Understanding of energy efficient embedded solutions’ design a plus
  • A strong background and knowledge in embedded systems with an emphasis in one or more of the following discipline’s
  • Experience in analog hardware design.
  • Understanding of power management design and power distribution requirements, including but not limited to: power supplies, voltage regulators and signal conditioning design.
  • Embedded systems design and architecture.
  • Knowledge in other areas listed below is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, scopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with simulation, system analysis and/or modeling tools (SPICE or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Team attitude, but also the ability to work independently
  • Previous FAE experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum experience required is typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
