AI Research Scientist, Circular Economy

💼 Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled AI Research Scientist to join Bosch's Research and Development team in Singapore. As part of our global research unit, the Singapore team focuses on sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to explore the usage of AI and advanced technologies in the field of Sustainability and Circular Economy. As a Research Scientist, you will collaborate with the research team, business units, and external partners to develop cutting-edge technologies and commercialize innovative solutions.

🎯 What you will do (Key Responsibilities)

• Drive innovations in Circular Economy & Sustainability using advanced AI, software, and engineering methods.
• Conduct advanced research that contributes to the entire circular value chain, using methods such as LLM/VLM, AI Agent, KG, CV, robotics, and automation, to address academic and industrial challenges.
• Co-create with business units to identify business needs and research requirements to contribute to the long-term product portfolio of Bosch; perform customer interviews, formulate problem statements, and generate innovation pitching and research proposals.
• Build cooperation, assess opportunities, and identify "Best-In-Class" within local institutions and universities for potential research/innovation collaboration.
• Align regularly with research portfolio owners, provide quarterly project updates, manage stakeholders, and pitch ideas via the Bosch Innovation Framework.
• Consistently generate invention reports and patents resulting from innovation, working closely with internal business units for commercialization.

👤 What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills)

• At least a Master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechanical, E&E, AI, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience as an R&D engineer or academic staff.
• High awareness of the latest trends and technologies in Circular Economy & Sustainability (related to Product Design, Manufacturing Process, LCA/LCC, Regulations/Homologation, etc.).
• Proven hands-on experience on AI or software projects (e.g., AI Agent, LLM/VLM, Novel View Synthesis, Knowledge Graph, Robotics, and/or other advanced software topics).
• Strong ability to conduct and translate research efforts into functional prototypes and demonstrate them to relevant stakeholders.
• Passion for innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team, possess a good working attitude, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
