AI Lab Program Manager
Position Summary: Full time role leading the day-to-day activities of the AI Lab. Reports to the Director of the AI Lab. Alignment with Theological Positions Affirm Alignment with Theological Positions: The person who fills this position must be someone who personally agrees with Biola’s Articles of Faith and Statement of Biblical Principles and who is supportive of the positions taken by Biola as contained in its Eschatology Teaching Position. Education Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related. Experience with a variety of AI applications. Demonstrated ability to lead others and direct their activities. Experience giving presentations and/or leading training. Skills Required: Self-motivated, professional attitude and appearance, excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven leadership and organizational skills, including ability to manage projects and communicate clearly. Mature Christian walk. Be able to multitask, work well under pressure and be disciplined to meet deadlines. Work Requirements ● Non-exempt (02), full-time – 40 hours/week, 12 months per year ● This position requires personal attendance at Biola’s campus in La Mirada, California. Primary Duties: ● Project Management: Coordinating and overseeing various AI projects within the lab, including planning, scheduling, and ensuring timely completion. ● Student Projects: Overseeing student projects within the lab, including undergraduate and graduate research projects, internships, and thesis work. ● Roadmapping: Developing and maintaining roadmaps for AI projects, outlining key milestones, dependencies, and timelines to guide project execution and track progress. ● Lab Coordination: Facilitating communication and collaboration among team members. ● Resource Management: Managing equipment and spaces to support the lab’s activities. ● Communication: Creating and overseeing the creation of regular communication and promotion of the lab and its activities. ● Stay Updated: Keeping abreast of the latest developments and trends in AI research and technology to inform decision-making and guide the direction of the lab's activities. ● AI Club oversight: Staying connected with and advising AI-focused student clubs or organizations at Biola. Assisting with organizing meetings, events, and activities to foster interest and engagement in AI among students. ● Organizing workshops, seminars, and training sessions on AI- related topics for students, faculty, staff, researchers, industry professionals, and the wider community. ● Partnership Management: Cultivating and managing partnerships with industry leaders, research institutions, government agencies, and other organizations to collaborate on AI research projects, funding opportunities, and knowledge sharing initiatives. ● Provide support to the Director of the AI Lab on other activities as necessary.
