But we all share one goal: to improve the world responsibly and safely.KBR is seeking an Advanced Program Support Technician to support our SPACE SUIT DESIGN TEAM for KBR’s Science and Space division. The Advanced Program Support Technician will be responsible for manufacturing, building, testing and maintenance of aerospace flight hardware including, but not limited to: (Extra Mobility Unit (EMU) Suits and Suit components primarily focusing on pressure integrity layers, EVA Tools and Crew Aids, Ancillary equipment, Advanced program and other contracts and subsystem equipment as required.  Manufacturing equipment and processes include, but not limited to 3D printers, RF welders, fabric laser and wheel cutters, and dip mold preparation. Testing of hardware will include repair and maintenance, cleaning, inspection, Engineering Change (EC) incorporation, assembly, disassembly, and performance/functional testing.  Repair and maintenance processes require the use of hazardous materials such as adhesives, lubricates, and solvents. RESPONSIBILITIES:Manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, testing, repair and processing of hardware to support various events, and deliverables; incorporates engineering changes, and performs functional performance testing of Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) components or related hardware, associated Extravehicular Activity (EVA) hardware, and other systems of hardware as assignedOperation of machine equipment includes 3D printers, RF welding machines, fabric laser and wheel cutters, and various low pressure air systemsProvide assistance to engineers in the location and diagnosis of anomalies and recommends corrective action through liaisonDaily tasks associated with reading engineering drawings/schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures etc.Specified training online, and in classroom, as required to maintain certifications to perform job functionsDaily updates to various job-related database(s)Adherence to Quality and Safety requirementsTransportation responsibilities to operate motor vehicle for delivery of hardware to various eventsDaily verbal and written communication with other technicians, leads, engineers, managers, other personnel and customersREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Requirements:Must be able to pass a Class III Physical; Physiological Training; Clean Room and Controlled Work Area TrainingMust have excellent mechanical skills and be able to read, comprehend, and execute detailed technical processing procedures, engineering drawings, and Work Authorizing Document directionsCandidate must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain a good driving record and able to operate a government vehicleExcellent oral and written communications; must be able to read and interpret Work Authorizing Documents (WADs) and mechanical design drawingsCapacity to work in a team environmentEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent GED,Years of Experience: 5+ years of related experiencePREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Associate's degree plus applicable years directly related Technical Degree or Military Technical School (skilled craft level five) or the equivalent of High School Graduate plus applicable years of directly related work experience. Experience with Pressure Systems desired or familiar with Pressurized Test EquipmentAt KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture.  These inform all that we do and are at the heart of our commitment to an ongoing journey toward being a People First company.  That commitment is central to our team of team’s philosophy and fosters an environment where everyone can Belong, Connect and Grow.
