Admissions Advisor
Basic Function
• The Admissions Advisor (AA) acts as the initial assessor for student suitability for Gurnick Academy programs.
• The AA screens students for acceptance using interviews, competency test scores, experience reviews, and academic requirements.
• Must have knowledge of all campus programs and advise prospective students on program viability and alignment with career goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Schedule appointments and tours with prospective students.
• Interview candidates to evaluate motives, program fit, ability to manage academic demands, and personal circumstances.
• Educate candidates on program nature and academic expectations.
• Clearly communicate program and academic requirements, and documentation needs.
• Administer and explain entrance exam results directly to candidates.
• Provide one-on-one feedback and coaching based on exam results.
• Collect initial registration fees for enrollment.
• Stay informed on campus programs and employment market trends including placement, licensure, and retention rates.
• Warm transfer calls to financial aid for preliminary financial aid estimates.
• Update candidate pipeline status through all stages of admissions and document notes in real-time.
• Collect and review all student paperwork such as transcripts, certificates, and IDs.
• Review disclosure documents with candidates and obtain signatures.
• Manage program admission ranking as documents and progress are received.
• Follow up on credit-granting requests.
• Schedule and collect verification of CPR, immunizations, and background checks as needed.
• Prepare student enrollment reports for campus meetings.
• Attend staff meetings as directed.
• Participate in community functions, career days, and campus graduation ceremonies.
• Engage in scheduled evaluations and goal-setting with the direct manager.
• Continuously pursue admissions best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
• Admissions experience or support preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Skilled in recruitment, interviewing, and selection.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills grounded in counseling and advisory roles.
• Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
