Actuarial Senior Manager - Supplemental Health Solutions Pricing - Hybrid
This Actuarial Senior Manager role leads the Supplemental Health Solutions Pricing team. The opportunity to have full oversight over pricing three products allows for a greater degree of control, innovation, and change management. Supplemental Health Solutions is a small yet highly-matrixed organization, as such this role interacts frequently with numerous other business areas, including Product, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
This role also offers significant exposure to the business senior leadership, requiring the ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategies that impact business and financial operations.
Key Responsibilities for this role are:
Pricing responsibility for all Supplemental Health factors and methodology for Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Care
Ensure rate compliance: from rate filing strategy and execution through systems implementation
Provide experience updates to Finance matrix partners to support accurate reserving and projections
Collaborate with business partners across Supplemental Health team (including Product, Sales, and Underwriting) to shape development of new solutions and market strategies
Engage with Claims and Operations to explore and implement process efficiencies
Perform actuarial actual-to-expected studies to assess the manual rating accuracy of our core Supplemental Health products
Provide pricing insight and support for key portfolio initiatives
Oversee implementation of pricing factors/methodology and supporting engine testing
Communicate actuarial results, risks, and opportunities to both the Pricing & Underwriting and Supplemental Health Leadership teams
Lead two actuarial students in achieving the goals outlined above while creating a supportive team environment that includes training and development, regular feedback, and support for actuarial exam progress
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or related field strongly preferred
Associate of Society of Actuaries designation required, Fellow of Society of Actuaries preferred
6+ years of actuarial or related work experience
Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of a strong desire and demonstrated ability to lead
Proven ability to influence others to drive results
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 142,500 - 237,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
