Accounting Intern
Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to mitigate water scarcity and inclement weather. We develop and incorporate radar and satellite validation, weather-resistant UAS, weather modeling, and novel sensors and dispersions into an effective precipitation enhancement solution.
The Role
- Support department managers across core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, General Accounting, and Accounts Receivable
- Build hands-on experience through special projects that provide broad exposure to accounting operations and Finance team responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close activities, including the preparation of manual and automated journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support accounts payable processes such as invoice entry, vendor setup and maintenance, data quality analysis, and document management
- Perform customer account reconciliations, apply cash receipts, and assist with customer claims processing
- Compile financial data and prepare recurring reports for internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset tagging, tracking, and reconciliation to the general ledger
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and help drive greater efficiency across workflows
- Provide ad hoc support on special assignments and high-priority tasks for the Accounting Manager
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Current coursework in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to work independently and achieve high quality output and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-conscious environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
