About the Role: We’re seeking a hands‑on payroll specialist to manage end‑to‑end payroll operations and statutory compliance across the APAC region—including Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, China, Korea, Australia, and India. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing India payroll, with broader Asia regional payroll experience considered a significant plus. You will partner with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors to deliver accurate and timely payroll, ensure audit‑ready controls, and drive continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
● Own monthly payroll processing across assigned APAC countries, including India and ensure timely deliveries of payroll payments and statutory reporting.
● Manage vendor relationships and SLAs; review gross-to-net reports and exception handling.
● Ensure statutory compliance (tax, social security, benefits, and year‑end filings). Monitor legislative requirements and implement changes where applicable.
● Handle off‑cycle runs, terminations, retro adjustments, equity/bonus, and expatriate/NTL cases.
● Reconcile payroll to General Ledger and support payroll accounting journals and queries; support audits, SOX, and internal control testing. ● Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation.
● Provide employee payroll support via case management with strong SLA discipline.
● India specific compliance support - A. Ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance of Provident Fund (PF) contributions; manage UAN validations, PF transfers and handle employee queries related to PF (including EPS, EDLI, international workers, etc). B. Manage end-to-end India statutory compliance including Professional Tax (state-wise), TDS reconciliation (Form 24Q), Form 16 issuance, and coordination for periodic inspections and audits. What You’ll Bring:
Education: Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
● 5+ years regional payroll experience; strong in India compliance and at least 3+ of the target countries.
● Solid knowledge of APAC statutory frameworks relating to payroll
● Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to manage multiple countries and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
● Systems: ADP Celergo, ADP Streamline, Workday, or similar; advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables; Power Query a plus).
● Good understanding of payroll accounting
● Language: Fluent English; Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin is a strong plus.
● Detail‑oriented, data‑driven, resilient under tight timelines across time zones.
Location: Hyderabad
Time Zones: Flexibility to support JP/KR/AU/IN cut‑offs and vendor calls.
Preferred Attributes:
● Experience in payroll transitions or system implementations.
● Shared services or regional center experience.
● Process improvement mindset with strong problem-solving capability.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a regional team.
