Key Takeaways

  • 75% of U.S. employers use automated applicant tracking systems to screen resumes before a human reviews them (Harvard Business School & Accenture, 2021)
  • The most common ATS failures are missing keywords, incompatible formatting, and incorrect file types
  • ResumeGeni scores your resume across 8 parsing layers — modeled on the same steps enterprise ATS platforms like Workday, Greenhouse, and Taleo use to evaluate candidates

How ATS Resume Scoring Works

Applicant tracking systems parse your resume into structured data — extracting your name, contact info, work history, skills, and education — then score how well that data matches the job requirements. Many ATS rejections happen because the parser couldn't extract critical fields, not because the candidate wasn't qualified.

Layout analysisTables, columns, headers, footersMulti-column layouts break field extraction

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ResumeGeni free?
Yes. ResumeGeni is currently in beta — ATS analysis, scoring, and initial improvement suggestions are free with no signup required. Full guidance and saved reports may require a free account.
What file formats are supported?
PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT, RTF, ODT, and Apple Pages. PDF and DOCX are recommended for best ATS compatibility.
How is the ATS score calculated?
Your resume is processed through an 8-layer parsing pipeline that extracts structured data the same way enterprise ATS platforms do. The score reflects how completely and accurately your resume can be parsed, plus how well your content matches common ATS ranking criteria.
Can ATS read PDF resumes?
Yes, but not all PDFs are equal. Text-based PDFs parse well. Image-only PDFs (scanned documents) and PDFs with complex tables or multi-column layouts often fail ATS parsing. Our analyzer will flag these issues.
How do I improve my ATS score?
Focus on three areas: use a clean single-column format, include keywords from the job description naturally in your experience bullets, and ensure all sections (contact, experience, education, skills) use standard headings.

The Opportunity: Collections Strategy and Ops Manager

We are seeking a Collections Strategy and Ops Manager to build a world-class collections function. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of collections strategy, risk segmentation, outreach channels, and analytics in a fast-growing, high- impact environment. If you’re looking for a foundational role where you can have massive impact scaling operations that expand financial inclusion, and a wide scope within a high performing team, this is the role for you.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in collections, risk, and analytics. They will have the opportunity to shape the vision, design best-in-class collections strategies, and eventually grow a high-performing team. This individual should be excited about getting in the weeds and hands-on leading analyses. They will drive experimentation, optimize collections performance, and implement data-driven decision-making across all aspects of the function.

This is a remote role with a preference for individuals based in México or in a similar time zone. Occasional travel will be required for company onsites and market visits (minimum 4-6 times per year).

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Test and iterate rapidly on different collections strategies, testing new outreach techniques, incentives, and risk-based approaches.

  • Design and implement predictive collections scoring and automation, leveraging segmentation, data analytics, machine learning, and vendors to optimize recovery rates.

  • Develop and scale collections outreach models—across digital, automated, and agent-led channels—to maximize efficiency and performance.

  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external collection agencies to ensure aligned strategy, consistent performance, and compliance.

  • Build and lead a high-performing collections strategy and analytics team, ensuring best-in-class execution and continuous improvement.

  • Work cross-functionally with Credit, Data Science, Product, Growth, and Operations teams to refine collections strategy, enhance underwriting insights, and drive innovation.

  • Own key collections KPIs, including delinquency rates, recovery efficiency, and overall portfolio performance, ensuring financial targets are met.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements

Why You're a Great Fit

  • 4+ years of experience in collections strategy, risk analytics, and credit risk management in financial services, preferably in consumer lending fintech.

  • Proven expertise in data-driven collections strategies, risk segmentation, and model-driven outreach optimization.

  • Deep familiarity with AI-driven collections scoring, automation, and optimization techniques is highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills; Happy to be hands-on and in the weeds driving analysis themselves.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives in high-growth, fast-scaling environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate to an executive audience.

  • Proficiency in SQL and analytics platforms is a strong plus.

  • Experience working with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in lending/collections is a plus.
