Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

The Exploration Company is a pioneering European space company dedicated to advancing international collaboration in space exploration. As we expand our global presence, we are establishing a strong technical footprint in the UAE to support on-ground lunar lander demonstrations, as well as other space technology development targeted towards the Middle East region and beyond.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced project manager to help us drive and execute multidisciplinary space demonstrations and projects end-to-end. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic foresight and the ability to scale operations in a rapidly growing space sector in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Lunar Lander Project Manager, your role will be continuously evolving, but day-to-day your duties will include:

1. Project Management

  • Lead and manage all project aspects from initiation to completion.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, schedule, and resource requirements.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

  • Proactively address challenges to maintain project momentum.

  • Identify potential risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies.

2. Partners Interface

  • Act as point of contact for partners involved in the projects, fostering strong collaboration.

  • Monitor partners activities and approve deliverables.

3. Team Coordination

  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams working on the project to optimize collaboration and efficiency.

  • Foster a positive project culture and facilitate effective communication.

4. Budget and Resource Management

  • Monitor project budgets and allocate resources effectively.

  • Optimize resource utilization to achieve project goals.

5. Test facilities management in the UAE

  • Lead the planning and coordination of the initial test site setup, defining scope, requirements, and readiness criteria ahead of operational launch.

  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure the test site is properly resourced, aligned with project objectives, and delivered on schedule.

  • Establish processes, documentation, and handover materials to enable a smooth transition to a dedicated test site manager once the site is fully operational.

What We Would Love to See from You

In the role of Lunar Lander Project Manager ideally, you will have the following:

  • Proven work experience of more than 10 years in the aerospace industry or related industries (both project management and technical responsibilities).

  • Strong technical background with hands-on engineering experience.

  • End-to-end experience at vehicle/spacecraft level and at technology level, with good system mindset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in proposal development and pre-sales support.

  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.
