Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Construction Pile Driving and Carpenter Foreman to oversee daily operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will lead a team of craft employees, ensure adherence to safety standards, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Specifically, this position will require previous knowledge working on phased bridge construction. Individuals must have knowledge and experience working with pile driving.  More specifically working with impact pile driving using a crane and leads, vibratory pipe pile driving and vibratory sheet pile driving for cofferdams and shoring.  Up to date welding certification is a plus.  Individuals must have knowledge and experience in carpentry work building bridge formwork.  This should include working with EFCO and standard formwork, critical lifting with complex rigging, working at heights on tall bridge structures, etc.

Responsibilities/Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Working with the Superintendent to schedule work assignments and manage workflow to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project Superintendents.
  • Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conducts safety meetings with craft employees; explains in detail the work to be accomplished and how it is to be accomplished
  • Acts as OSHA defined “competent person” on job
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to craft employees on proper techniques and safety practices.
  • Resolve/report conflicts and address any issues that arise on the job site.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to facilitate project goals.
  • Inspect work performed by subcontractors to ensure conformance with specifications

 Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction management or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry; experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Must be well versed in the use of the EFCO forming system.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
