We are seeking a Project Manager based in Bangkok, Thailand, for a 9-month engagement. This is an on-site role requiring close collaboration with local and global stakeholders.

You will be joining a truly global team with team members across Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, London, Nairobi, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jakarta, offering a dynamic, cross-cultural work environment.

We are looking to run an innovation supply chain pilot to procure Flexible plastics/ films such as LDPE, HDPE, PP,/ MLP through means of responsible sourcing, ensuring transparent supply chains that can operate with secured availability. The aim is to develop and demonstrate a scalable model for collecting and recycling flexible plastic snack packaging in Thailand. This approach is intended to improve feedstock quality while demonstrating how informal-sector collection systems can supply flexible plastics into recovery pathways.

The project will prioritize social impact within the waste value chain. Baseline and follow-up assessments will measure improvements in waste worker livelihoods, occupational safety, and working conditions. The initiative will also provide operational support such as personal protective equipment, suitable upgrades, and training to strengthen responsible sourcing practices. The pilot will generate insights into how policy and market incentives can enable system change for flexible plastic recovery, including EPR policy insights.
The pilot is expected to start from April and continue for at least 7 months. The location for the pilot is expected to be in Greater Bangkok Area, Thailand.

In pursuance of this, we are looking for an enterprising individual for the position of Project Manager for sourcing of Flexible plastics/ films such as LDPE, HDPE, PP,/ MLP.

Experience

  • Has experience of 5+ years in the waste management sector, with experience of working in Flexible plastics/ films such as LDPE, HDPE, PP/ MLP as an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of Thai
  • Have worked with formal and informal players in the waste management sector, with direct engagement for material sourcing
  • Has experience in conducting capacity building activities for responsible sourcing
  • Experience of sourcing plastic/ polymers through formal and informal supply chains will be of additional advantage to the candidate.
  • Has experience in preparing project management plans, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
  • Experience in equipment specification creation, sourcing, vendor negotiation, selection, and commissioning
  • Can understand auditing requirements, face and conduct field visits and audits
  • Communication skills required to coordinate and communicate with waste pickers, aggregators, and community drop-off/ recyclers
  • Has supply chain experience in the procurement of materials (preferably waste)
  • Has experience in implementing quality assurance and control frameworks
