Department Overview

The Loss Prevention and Security (LPS) organization within Motorola Solutions is responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures to protect the company's assets, employees, and reputation.

This organization works closely with other departments within the company, such as IT Security, Legal, Office of Ethics and HR, as well as Business Continuity and Crisis Teams along with external stakeholders such as security consultancies, law enforcement and government agencies, to ensure a comprehensive and effective security program.


Job Description

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) at Motorola Solutions is the cornerstone of our national security compliance. You will manage the company’s security programs, procedures, and controls for Motorola Solutions.  Your primary mission is to ensure the company maintains its Facility Clearance (FCL) while providing high-level support to employees in obtaining and maintaining their individual personnel security clearances.

The Facility Security Officer will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the official point of contact with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

  • Prepare for and respond to DCSA security reviews and vulnerability assessments.

  • Ensure the company maintains its security clearance.

  • Conduct independent learning and training to improve expertise in security best practices.

  • Assist employees in obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearances.

  • Maintain all security documentation and files independently and without supervision in accordance with Defense Security Service (DSS) requirements.

  • Maintain classified holdings and prepare classified transmittals in accordance with NISPOM guidelines and requirements.

  • Conduct annual self-inspections as required by the DSS and other reviews as directed by the government.

  • Conduct initial and refresher security briefings.

  • Independently manage day-to-day operations of a cleared facility, such as submitting visit requests for US and foreign travel and managing internal security tracking documents.

  • Ensure annual security training requirements are met and kept up to date.

  • Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.

  • Manage the ITPSO (Insider Threat Program Senior Official) responsibilities to schedule relevant insider threat meetings and gather information across the facility (e.g., human resources, security, information assurance, legal) to support the identification and assessment of insider threats.

  • Proactive identification of facility-related safety, security, and logistical concerns and coordination with other teams to promptly resolve them.

  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager to address any safety or security concerns.

  • Provide any necessary training related to the maintenance of a secured facility.

  • Perform other related duties of which the above represent.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree or comparable military experience.

  • 3+ years of Facility Security Officer experience.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.

  • Hold and maintain US DoD Secret Security Clearance.

  • Ability to complete required FSO training.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a team.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of facility clearance requirements and guidelines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel to other Motorola Solutions Inc. locations as required.

Target Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 USD.
