As an accounting financial reporting specialist lead on the Corporate Statutory Reporting team, you’ll complete and review the most complex Statutory financial reporting, accounting, and analytical duties. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of accounting and financial reporting concepts, industry practices, and company policies and procedures, you’ll analyze data that requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. You’ll monitor changes, researching, and ensure compliance with complex issues to maintain accurate financial reporting, and update company accounting and reporting policies and procedures. In addition, you’ll mentor, daily supervise daily, and review the work of other financial reporting specialists.

This is a remote position for U.S.- based work only, requiring occasional travel for meetings and/or training.
 
Must-have qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of 6 years related accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a specialized area (e.g., reinsurance, investments), financial reporting, or public accounting experience.
Preferred skills
 
  • Significant experience as a statutory accountant with expertise in quarterly and year-end financial reporting in the insurance industry 
  • Strong background in statutory accounting principles and a proven track record in delivering accurate and compliant financial reports
  • Strong knowledge of internal accounting controls, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and Model Audit Rule (MAR) control documentation standards
  • Insurance and/or relevant financial services experience 
Compensation
 
  • $89,600 - $119,500/year depending on position level
