Purpose of the role

Pico is currently seeking candidates for our Database Administrator opening. Qualified candidates must be proficient with Microsoft SQL Server and its eco system. Knowledge of other DBMS systems, Operating Systems, Hardware platforms, Cloud technologies, Change Control management and systems plus automation platforms is a plus.

 

Responsibilities and duties 

Database:

  • Deploy and manage enterprise and Pico managed database platforms
  • Maintain, administer, troubleshoot, install, and configure database systems
  • Deploying/Implementing database security best practices
  • Performance and optimization of databases and database servers
  • Performance tuning of SQL and TSQL statement/procedures
  • Provide criteria, requirements, and solutions around database monitoring
  • Assist with the certification, upgrading and patching of all database products
  • Support existing DB processes and procedures autonomously

 

DevOps:

  • Automation of operational tasks
  • Automated custom report generation for proprietary systems
