Key Takeaways

  • 75% of U.S. employers use automated applicant tracking systems to screen resumes before a human reviews them (Harvard Business School & Accenture, 2021)
  • The most common ATS failures are missing keywords, incompatible formatting, and incorrect file types
  • ResumeGeni scores your resume across 8 parsing layers — modeled on the same steps enterprise ATS platforms like Workday, Greenhouse, and Taleo use to evaluate candidates

How ATS Resume Scoring Works

Applicant tracking systems parse your resume into structured data — extracting your name, contact info, work history, skills, and education — then score how well that data matches the job requirements. Many ATS rejections happen because the parser couldn't extract critical fields, not because the candidate wasn't qualified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ResumeGeni free?
Yes. ResumeGeni is currently in beta — ATS analysis, scoring, and initial improvement suggestions are free with no signup required. Full guidance and saved reports may require a free account.
What file formats are supported?
PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT, RTF, ODT, and Apple Pages. PDF and DOCX are recommended for best ATS compatibility.
How is the ATS score calculated?
Your resume is processed through an 8-layer parsing pipeline that extracts structured data the same way enterprise ATS platforms do. The score reflects how completely and accurately your resume can be parsed, plus how well your content matches common ATS ranking criteria.
Can ATS read PDF resumes?
Yes, but not all PDFs are equal. Text-based PDFs parse well. Image-only PDFs (scanned documents) and PDFs with complex tables or multi-column layouts often fail ATS parsing. Our analyzer will flag these issues.
How do I improve my ATS score?
Focus on three areas: use a clean single-column format, include keywords from the job description naturally in your experience bullets, and ensure all sections (contact, experience, education, skills) use standard headings.

Openhomefoundation · GMT-5 to GMT+2

We are looking for

The Open Home Foundation is looking for an experienced Partnership Manager to join our growing partnerships team. This team is responsible for covering all forms of commercial and non-commercial partnerships with companies and non-profits alike, even extending to standards alliances or the public sector.

You will work on Home Assistant and other projects of the Open Home Foundation. Home Assistant is the biggest open-source smart home platform in the world, with over two million users worldwide powering their households with it. To provide these users with the best possible experience, we build positive relationships with major organizations operating in the smart home industry—or outside of it. We are looking for someone who can develop and manage these strategic partnerships.

As partnership manager, you will manage relationships with our existing partners, be a dedicated contact for partners and manage incoming requests from potential partners - this will include some travel. You will also be responsible for proactively reaching out to key companies in the smart home industry to build relationships with them.

An example of current commercial partnerships you would be responsible for are members of the 'Works With Home Assistant' partner program. This program makes it easier for users to find products that will give them the best Home Assistant experience, as devices that have been tested and approved can be identified by a 'Works With Home Assistant' badge.

What you are going to do

  • Build collaborative relationships with partners to achieve mutual goals.

  • Work with our current Partnership Manager to scale the program into new regions

  • Act as a dedicated point of contact for partners and prospects.

  • Create partnership proposals and strategies to approach potential partners.

  • Identify new potential partnership opportunities and act on them, through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold outreach.

  • Assess potential partners' alignment with our organizational goals and values.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing partners.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between partners and the community.

  • Manage the operational partnership process, including finalizing agreements and contracts, and ensuring agreed terms and conditions are upheld throughout the relationship.

What you need to have

  • At least 3 years of previous experience as a partnership manager, relationship manager, business development manager, account manager, or similar role.

  • Understanding of the open-source community and underlying values.

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop opportunities.

  • Demonstrable track record of negotiating and closing partnership deals.

  • Excellent at building rapport.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

  • Availability to travel internationally when necessary.

  • Ideally, residency in the following regions: Europe, North America , Latin America, Australia or New Zealand. Other regions can be considered but only in exceptional cases.

It would be great if you also have

  • Fluency in more than one language (Mandarin would be a plus).

  • A passion for smart homes and automation.

  • Experience as a Home Assistant user.

What we offer you

The Open Home Foundation is a fully remote organization that uses Remote to employ people from all over the world. You will be a normal salaried employee in your country.

This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. Because we are a fully remote company, there is no fixed schedule. For the purpose of team communication, we do try to ensure at least 3 hours of overlap in the workday. You will report to the Marketing Lead, who is based in the Netherlands.

Core to the establishment of the Open Home Foundation was the well-being of the people building the future of the smart home. We will provide all the benefits required by the country you reside in. However, we also want to make sure all our employees, regardless of country of origin, get at least a minimal set of benefits, including:

  • Twenty-five days of paid time off.

  • Fourteen days of paid sick leave if your country/laws treat them as unpaid.

  • Six weeks of paid and six weeks of unpaid parental leave to be used in the first year after birth. We will provide the missing days if your country/laws do not provide such compensation.

  • A budget for your work hardware once you start.

  • A 50% contribution to your internet connection fee at your home workspace.

  • One day every two weeks to work on your personal projects.

  • If you are currently working on Home Assistant-related side projects, you can spend work time maintaining them.

When first offering a position to a new member, the Open Home Foundation aims to provide a total compensation package that matches the 75th percentile for the new hire's role, seniority, and local market rates. For a Partnerships Manager in our primary operating countries, the approximate yearly compensation will be the following:

  • Netherlands: 82.000€

  • UK: £74.000

  • Spain: 67.000€

  • Portugal: 64.000€

  • Italy: 68.000€

  • Canada: CA$125.000

  • Australia: A$150.000

  • Other countries: compensation can be discussed during the first interview.

These figures may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and work hours.
