Position Overview 

Minno is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to own and scale our accounting function as the business grows. This is a highly visible role at a pivotal stage of the company, with increasing revenue complexity, expanding content production, evolving regulatory requirements, and future fundraising on the horizon.

The Controller will be responsible for ensuring accounting accuracy, financial compliance, and operational rigor today, while building systems, processes, and controls that support the business tomorrow. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to operate pragmatically in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Own the monthly close process, general ledger, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP Ensure accurate accounting across multiple revenue streams, including subscriptions, publishing, and content licensing.
  • Oversee content accounting, including capitalization, amortization, and impairment of produced and licensed content Establish, document, and maintain accounting policies as the business and content slate grow.
  • Oversee financial compliance and coordination of tax, regulatory, and required filings Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants Support audit readiness, financial diligence, and investor-related reviews.
  • Design and implement scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation.
  • Optimize financial systems and integrations across accounting, billing, and content data sources.
  • Manage and develop a Senior Staff Accountant, with opportunity to build the team over time.
  • Partner cross-functionally with content, publishing, product, operations, and legal teams.
  • Partner with the CFO to forecast cash flow and manage working capital, ensuring liquidity is aligned with production plans, growth initiatives, and revenue timing.
