Overview

The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of accounting information through proper recording, verification, and reconciliation of transactions. The role includes preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement schedules, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. The accountant will also perform account reconciliations, monitor compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and support audits and regulatory reporting. Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and provide timely financial information to support business decision-making.

Responsibilities
• Performs accounting activities (e.g., reconciliations, journal entries) in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements
• Perform month-end close activities
• Executes and supports external audit
• Makes suggestions for process improvements
• Assists in supporting the business partner relationship, including performing any ad-hoc analysis and reporting
• Interaction with various stakeholders ie GBSC, external auditors, internal audit, Mastercard corporate / tax team and broader MTS finance team.
