Key Takeaways

  • 75% of U.S. employers use automated applicant tracking systems to screen resumes before a human reviews them (Harvard Business School & Accenture, 2021)
  • The most common ATS failures are missing keywords, incompatible formatting, and incorrect file types
  • ResumeGeni scores your resume across 8 parsing layers — modeled on the same steps enterprise ATS platforms like Workday, Greenhouse, and Taleo use to evaluate candidates

How ATS Resume Scoring Works

Applicant tracking systems parse your resume into structured data — extracting your name, contact info, work history, skills, and education — then score how well that data matches the job requirements. Many ATS rejections happen because the parser couldn't extract critical fields, not because the candidate wasn't qualified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ResumeGeni free?
Yes. ResumeGeni is currently in beta — ATS analysis, scoring, and initial improvement suggestions are free with no signup required. Full guidance and saved reports may require a free account.
What file formats are supported?
PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT, RTF, ODT, and Apple Pages. PDF and DOCX are recommended for best ATS compatibility.
How is the ATS score calculated?
Your resume is processed through an 8-layer parsing pipeline that extracts structured data the same way enterprise ATS platforms do. The score reflects how completely and accurately your resume can be parsed, plus how well your content matches common ATS ranking criteria.
Can ATS read PDF resumes?
Yes, but not all PDFs are equal. Text-based PDFs parse well. Image-only PDFs (scanned documents) and PDFs with complex tables or multi-column layouts often fail ATS parsing. Our analyzer will flag these issues.
How do I improve my ATS score?
Focus on three areas: use a clean single-column format, include keywords from the job description naturally in your experience bullets, and ensure all sections (contact, experience, education, skills) use standard headings.

Workplace Experience & Ops Apprentice

Liminal · Boston

Skip the Coffee Runs...

Calling all operators with a creative mind, systems thinkers, and space-builders. This isn’t an admin job – it’s a chance to create a workspace that reflects how serious we are about building companies.

If you believe spaces shape performance…
If you obsess over details but think in systems…
If you want ownership, not errands…

Okay… So What Is This, Really?

Let’s guess.

You’re the kind of person who walks into a room and immediately thinks:

  • This layout doesn’t flow.
  • That lighting is wrong.
  • This space could work harder.
  • Why is there no system for this?

You love experience design, not just aesthetics.
You love structure, but not bureaucracy.
You care about budgets, but you refuse to sacrifice taste.

This role is your opportunity to take Liminal’s Boston office from space… to statement.

We’re not looking for someone to simply “manage supplies.”

We’re looking for someone to build and run a workplace experience that feels intentional, cohesive, and quietly world-class.

Alright, Let's Get to the Good Stuff — Here's What's in It for You

At Liminal, we don't offer traditional programs. We are offering a 1-year Workplace Experience & Operations Apprenticeship, designed for sharp, service-oriented, experienced executors who want real ownership, real stakes, and real mentorship – not a year of coffee runs and calendar invites.

What is Liminal?

Liminal is a Founders' Studio headquartered in Singapore and Boston.

We co-build with top-flight founders by providing build expertise, unfair access and funding to de-risk their journey from MVP to Series B and beyond

What is the Role?

We're seeking a Workplace Experience & Ops, Apprentice to help build, outfit, and operate the Liminal Boston office – from first furniture decision to fully functioning workspace. You'll work directly with the Programs & Coordination team, with visibility across the Liminal leadership.

This role has two acts. First: bring the Boston office to life – sourcing, outfitting, and designing a space that feels intentional, brand-aligned, and built for founders. Then: keep it that way – running a tight operation with clean systems, proactive vendor management, and a quiet, consistent standard of excellence.

Responsibilities

Phase 1: Workplace & Brand Translation (Immediate Priority)

  • Translate Liminal’s brand into physical space decisions (furniture, décor, materials, layout)
  • Source and compare vendors across quality, cost, and lead time
  • Articulate structured rationale behind design and purchasing decisions
  • Build and track the outfitting budget
  • Coordinate procurement, deliveries, and installation
  • Ensure the office flows functionally (work zones, collaboration spaces, hospitality, storage)

You are not decorating. You’re designing a performance environment.

Phase 2: Ongoing Workplace Operations

  • Implement inventory systems (supplies, consumables, equipment)
  • Manage vendors (cleaning, maintenance, utilities)
  • Track and report budgets with discipline
  • Coordinate maintenance and light troubleshooting
  • Document systems and workflows (ordering cadence, vendor cycles, upkeep)
  • Continuously improve the environment as the team grows

The goal? Stakeholders trust that the office simply works.

Attributes

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Have 1–3 years of work experience
  • Have a strong aesthetic sensibility and can articulate why a space decision is the right one
  • Are highly organized and execute with minimal supervision
  • Think in systems – not just tasks
  • Balance cost discipline with design judgment, and never sacrifice one entirely for the other
  • Communicate proactively and document everything
  • Act like an owner, not a task executor
  • Bring low ego and high accountability to everything you touch

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for someone who wants to build something tangible, develop real operational instincts, and do it inside a studio that's co-founding the next generation of breakout companies. If you're ready to own a space – and everything it takes to make it exceptional – this is your moment. Regardless of your background, if this role excites you, feel free to upload some work (e.g. a Pinterest Board) to demonstrate your taste/style.
