🧭 Purpose of the Position

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring inventory continuity while optimizing cost, quality, and urgency. You’ll also maintain purchasing records to support efficient operations and strategic inventory management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily product ordering from vendors

  • Negotiate annual marketing programs to ensure competitiveness and profitability

  • Align purchasing with sales needs, inventory plans, and customer fill-rate goals

  • Replenish stock promptly and manage new product rollouts and discontinuations

  • Negotiate pricing, deals, and promotions to enhance value

  • Ensure accurate and timely product delivery by coordinating with vendors, buyers, and transportation partners

  • Verify inventory quantities, expiration codes, and product quality

  • Monitor and reduce dead or overstock inventory

  • Assist with invoice reconciliation and request vendor refunds for losses

  • Source and maintain freight rates

  • Provide product details, availability, and vendor info to the sales team

  • Create weekly hot sheets for short-dated items
