Energy Action Fund (EAF) is the strategy and funding hub for America’s state and local climate politics. Working in partnership with its 501(c)(3) sister organization, U.S. Energy Foundation (EF), EAF provides 501(c)(4) lobbying and accountability resources to deliver significant legislative victories, cultivate bipartisan policy leadership, and support successful lobbying strategies from the most powerful voices for change: business, conservative, equity, labor, environmental, or other impacted advocates. Our funding also supports consultants who manage coalitions, design and execute political strategies, and support communications strategies. Having tripled its budget in the past two years, EAF is currently a $50+ million organization and growing quickly.

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Program Manager, Campaigns, will manage the day-to-day execution and tracking of EAF’s political campaigns program. They will work closely with our regional teams and EAF leadership to support political strategy across the organization and manage relationships with key national and state grantees that engage in state-level political work.  

 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in political campaigns, bringing sharp instincts around what it takes to win, and be capable of guiding choices about everything from high-level strategy to detailed tactics. They also must be able to succinctly and clearly analyze, summarize, and communicate those complex campaigns in a compelling manner. 

 

The Program Manager, Campaigns, must be deeply collaborative, as this job requires them to develop and maintain durable relationships with an assortment of partners, internally and externally—including both grantees and funders—and they must have a solid understanding of and commitment to EAF climate equity goals.  

 

As EAF grows, the scope of this role may expand and evolve, so a successful candidate needs to be capable of evolving as a leader and taking on new responsibilities, 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  

Campaign Strategy and Management 

  • Support regional teams on planning and strategy for political work.  
  • Support Senior Program Director, Campaigns, and Program Director, Campaigns, in ensuring political work integrates with legislative program, particularly in the context of state planning. 
  • Maintain relationships with in-state consultant infrastructure to ensure EAF team remains up-to-date on political dynamics. 
  • Lead in determining goals and metrics for EAF’s political campaigns, evaluating the impact of our funding and making recommendations that will improve our work and maximize our impact in the field. 
  • Support EAF team in planning and executing convenings and events related to political strategy. 
  • Support candidate education work in partnership with the Program Director, Campaigns. 
  • Support Senior Program Director, Campaigns, in direct and aligned fundraising for political campaigns program. 
  • Manage tracking systems for political work, including our annual tracker for grantee budgets and targets.
