Aypa is seeking an Austin, Texas-based Manager, Trading and Asset Optimization to join its Asset Management Team and support our work managing a storage portfolio. Aypa is a growth organization with an established portfolio in a fast-paced industry.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Research, identify and execute on opportunities to create market efficiencies and capture positive spreads, where allowed, within physical and financial power markets;
  • Develop and update daily reports and model results in relation to optimizing storage assets;
  • Enhance market intelligence for bidding strategy of battery storage facilities. Includes analysis of supply and demand variables, weather patterns, and market practices;
  • Provide analysis and tools around managing market congestion relative to asset locations;
  • Interact with operations team, scheduling entities and QSE/SC service provider on implementing strategy and managing BESS systems;
  • Generate bid/offer curves for storage assets;
  • Create unique strategies that incorporate current hedging capabilities and support analysis of future tolling structures;
  • Monitor BESS performance and develop daily analysis of operational capacity and unit outages in coordination with the Operations team;
  • Provide analysis and bespoke solutions to operational hurdles impacting asset management;
  • Continually improve current processes and analysis in relation to operational storage assets;
  • Collaboration with support functions and team members;
  • Clearly and effectively communicate complex topics to a diverse audience;
  • Other duties as required.  

Key Qualifications: 

  • B.S. in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required;
