Key Takeaways

  • 75% of U.S. employers use automated applicant tracking systems to screen resumes before a human reviews them (Harvard Business School & Accenture, 2021)
  • The most common ATS failures are missing keywords, incompatible formatting, and incorrect file types
  • ResumeGeni scores your resume across 8 parsing layers — modeled on the same steps enterprise ATS platforms like Workday, Greenhouse, and Taleo use to evaluate candidates

How ATS Resume Scoring Works

Applicant tracking systems parse your resume into structured data — extracting your name, contact info, work history, skills, and education — then score how well that data matches the job requirements. Many ATS rejections happen because the parser couldn't extract critical fields, not because the candidate wasn't qualified.

LayerWhat It ChecksWhy It Matters

Layout analysisTables, columns, headers, footersMulti-column layouts break field extraction
Section detectionExperience, education, skills headingsNon-standard headings cause sections to be missed
Field mappingName, email, phone, dates, titlesMissing contact info is a common cause of immediate rejection

Chronology checkDate ordering, gap detectionReverse-chronological order is expected by most ATS

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ResumeGeni free?
Yes. ResumeGeni is currently in beta — ATS analysis, scoring, and initial improvement suggestions are free with no signup required. Full guidance and saved reports may require a free account.
What file formats are supported?
PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT, RTF, ODT, and Apple Pages. PDF and DOCX are recommended for best ATS compatibility.
How is the ATS score calculated?
Your resume is processed through an 8-layer parsing pipeline that extracts structured data the same way enterprise ATS platforms do. The score reflects how completely and accurately your resume can be parsed, plus how well your content matches common ATS ranking criteria.
Can ATS read PDF resumes?
Yes, but not all PDFs are equal. Text-based PDFs parse well. Image-only PDFs (scanned documents) and PDFs with complex tables or multi-column layouts often fail ATS parsing. Our analyzer will flag these issues.
How do I improve my ATS score?
Focus on three areas: use a clean single-column format, include keywords from the job description naturally in your experience bullets, and ensure all sections (contact, experience, education, skills) use standard headings.

Finance Manager

Auditdata · Copenhagen, Sjælland, Denmark

Location: Copenhagen, DK

About the role:

We’re hiring a Finance Manager to lead our accounting team and strengthen the foundations: tighter internal controls, improved consolidation, and faster close (target D+5) — while being a trusted finance partner to the wider organization.

Your mission:

Build a finance function that scales with the business: simple, transparent, and reliable — without adding bureaucracy. We run finance by three mantras: Simplicity, Scalability & Transparency.

In practice, that means you’ll:

  • Raise the bar on internal controls (clear ownership, clean processes, audit-ready documentation)

  • Improve consolidation across entities

  • Drive a D+5 monthly close rhythm — predictable, high quality, and low drama

  • Lead and develop a team of 4–6 accountants day-to-day (prioritization, coaching, delegation)

  • Continuously modernise the way we work — including implementation of AI and automation to reduce manual effort and improve quality (where it genuinely helps).

What you will do:

  • Lead and run finance operations:
    - Own month-end close and help us consistently hit D+5 (planning, checklists, dependencies, quality gates)
    - Lead the accounting team day-to-day (support, feedback, clarity on priorities)

  • Be the go-to finance partner for the organization on expenses, controls, and “how do we do this correctly?”

  • Strengthen controls and improve consolidation:
    - Upgrade the internal control environment in a pragmatic way
    - Improve consolidation processes and group reporting structure
    - Coordinate multi-entity audit and statutory reporting in close collaboration with external auditors

  • Improve systems and ways of working: drive the process improvements and automation that remove friction and increase accuracy

  • Work in Business Central (plus integrated systems) and support reporting flows (incl. Power BI)

  • Identify a small set of AI-enabled improvements (e.g., better exception handling, smarter reconciliations, faster variance narratives) and implement them responsibly, focusing on measurable impact rather than hype

What success looks like in the first 6–12 months:

  • Close is consistently D+5, with strong documentation and clear ownership

  • Consolidation is smoother, faster, and easier to explain

  • Controls are stronger, audit coordination is calmer, and finance is seen as a helpful partner (not a bottleneck)

  • The accounting team feels supported, aligned, and improving month over month

  • A few practical automation/AI improvements are live and saving real time each month.

What you bring:

Must-haves:

  • Strong hands-on accounting foundation (you can go deep when needed, but you don’t get stuck there)

  • Experience leading a close cycle and improving it (speed and quality)

  • Confidence implementing internal controls in a scaling company (practical, not overly theoretical)

  • Strong stakeholder skills — you’ll work with “most of the organization” daily

  • Clear communicator in English (Danish is a plus, not a requirement).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Multi-entity consolidation experience

  • Audit coordination experience across several legal entities

  • Experience from SaaS / international scale-up environments

  • Business Central experience (a plus).

Your style:

  • You’re pragmatic, structured, and positive — with a “find a way” mindset

  • You enjoy building processes that last, and you make the people around you better.

Why Join Us?

  • Long-term engagement in a stable, growing SaaS company

  • Flat organizational structure with a short path from idea to action, and a “freedom with responsibility” style of leadership

  • Professional development opportunities, including certification support

  • A global, diverse, and highly skilled team across Denmark, Ukraine, UK, Poland, Canada, Australia, USA, and more.

  • A culture that values personal growth as much as business outcomes

  • Hybrid work set up (3-4 days/week in the office)

Feels like it’s a perfect match to you?
We look forward to your application!
