As the Associate HV Infrastructure Director, APAC you will report to the Senior Director, Utilities Infrastructure and work closely with Development, Technology and Operations teams, making your mark in several ways:  

  • You will be a strategic leader and problem solver, responsible for developing and executing strategies to continuously improve delivery of HV power systems to our sites, 
  • You will be responsible for aligning processes with strategic business goals and priorities, 
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure AirTrunk strategy is delivered, 
  • Driving continuous engineering solutions across the business by championing customer-centric outcomes, 
  • Resolving a diverse range of problems as they arise to maintain the customer and delivery focus for the business. 

Your Day to Day  

  • Develop and motivate a high performing team,  
  • Develop and implement utilities strategies to ensure effective and improving HV system delivery across the Asia-Pacific Region, 
  • Ensure the highest safety and quality across all projects, 
  • Ensure the delivery of HV systems is integrated with whole-of-Data Centre delivery, 
  • Oversee Tender and onboarding vendor and contractor partner process, 
  • Analyse current and past project HV delivery performance to contribute to improvements going forward,   
  • Continuously drive efficiency in delivery, ensuring problems are resolved, lessons are learnt and embedded into processes going forward to improve the effectiveness of HV infrastructure, 
  • Manage and develop key relationships at all levels with utilities, regulators, consultants, vendors and contractors, 
  • Manage and negotiate at a deep technical level with authorities and utilities to achieve best possible project outcomes, 
  • Work broadly across the business to ensure alignment of the utilities program with the rest of the business, 
  • Develop and improve regular project reporting to senior management including project safety, quality, time, costs, progress, authorities and risk, 
  • Set and manage KPI and SLA’s for our vendors,  
  • Manage the development of AirTrunk’s HV on site networks to be safe and efficient, meeting and exceeding local code requirements and industry best practice where appropriate,  
  • Oversee and improve policy and practice in the development and management of the HV network design on new and existing AirTrunk networks, including primary, secondary, SCADA, earthing and DC systems,  
  • Travel to projects and sites as required.   

 Minimum requirements:   

  • 10+ years HV design, delivery and operations experience 
  • 10+ years experience working on highly-integrated large scale projects 
  • A Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • Strong and effective communicator with the ability to confidently negotiate with internal and external stakeholders on a professional and senior level.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence up to the executive level internally and with external stakeholders  
  • Managed and mentored high performing teams, minimum of 7 years,   
  • Well organised and effective manager to manage workload and meet deadlines  
  • Minimum 10 years broad high voltage experience in design, delivery and operations with a utility, electrical consultant or contractor,  
  • Strong technical knowledge of HV systems and assets including GIS, AIS, switchgear, Transformers, protection relays and DC systems.
