The opportunity 
 

Join Hitachi, Ltd. as an Equipment Engineer and play a key role in optimizing and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure high performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to continuous improvement and supporting innovative manufacturing processes. 

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Develop and implement modifications and upgrades to existing manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency, yield, and safety 

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex manufacturing machinery and systems 

  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and implement preventive measures 

  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues and optimize processes 

  • Create and maintain documentation for equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and technical specifications 

  • Train technicians and operators on new equipment and updated procedures 

  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of required components and ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations 

  • Support the selection, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment 

Your background 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical Engineering 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment engineering within a manufacturing environment 

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems 

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery and identify root causes of failures 

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment 

  • English is mandatory, German is beneficial
