We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a distributed data engineering team within SimCorps AI & Insights area someone who can bring clarity and efficiency to a team doing critical foundational work, and who is ready to help shape how data is built and scaled across the organisation.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
SimCorps AI & Insights area is building the artificial intelligence-, observability-, and data platform that enables SimCorp to deliver high perfoming, reliable, and AI powered solutions to the worlds leading investment managers. Behind that ambition is a data ecosystem that needs to be robust, automated, and ready to scale and that is what this team is building.
Right now, the teams core focus is on automating Snowflake environments and deployment pipelines. As the foundation matures, the teams scope will grow to contribute to a broader data strategy that runs across Product Development.
The role sits within a technically deep, Platform-oriented organisation, and reports directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, AI & Insights.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Team leadership and development

Lead a team of five engineers: two based in Noida and three in Poland, working primarily in a virtual, distributed model

Create the conditions for the team to do their best work clear priorities, healthy ways of working, and a culture where people feel supported and engaged

Develop individual engineers through regular 1:1s, coaching, and honest feedback; support their growth within SimCorp
Delivery and operations

Own delivery of the teams backlog, automating Snowflake environments and deployment pipelines

Manage day-to-day task prioritisation, capacity, and engineering health, ensuring the team delivers consistently without burning out

Identify and remove blockers before they slow the team down; step in where decisions need to be made rather than waiting for permission
Stakeholder and cross-team collaboration

Translate the teams technical work into clear, meaningful updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work closely with product owner to align on priorities, surface risks early, and contribute to the teams longer-term direction

Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure the data platform work integrates well with adjacent areas
Strategy and growth

Contribute to the broader data strategy as the teams scope expands beyond initial automation work

Think ahead: anticipate where the team needs to grow in skills, headcount, and tooling, and advocate for what is needed
WHAT WE VALUE

Ownership and independence You take responsibility without being told to. When something is unclear, you dig in rather than waiting for someone to hand you an answer. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and you follow through.

Management experience You have led people, projects, or both. People management experience is preferred, but we will consider strong project management backgrounds where there is genuine accountability for team output and delivery. We expect 10+ years of total professional experience.

Technical grounding You have a background in engineering or data, and you are comfortable engaging with the work your team does day-to-day. You do not need to be writing production Snowflake code, but you need to understand what your engineers are building, ask the right questions, and spot when something is off.

Communication clarity You write and speak in plain, precise English. You can explain a complex data pipeline decision to a non-technical stakeholder without oversimplifying it, and you can represent your teams work with confidence in senior forums. Strong written and spoken English is essential.

Distributed team experience and empathy Leading engineers across Noida and Poland, primarily virtually, requires deliberate effort clear communication, inclusive practices, and genuine attention to the wellbeing of people you may rarely see in person. You understand this and take it seriously.

Structured thinking in ambiguous situations This is not a role with a fully defined playbook. The team is building something that is still taking shape. You create clarity where there is none, manage capacity with discipline, and keep stakeholders informed without needing to escalate every decision.

Collaborative by default You work well across teams and functions. You know when to align, when to decide, and when to push back and you do all three constructively.
