We have an opportunity for a Salesforce Platform Developer to join our Golden Valley, MN team. You will help drive the evolution of Pentair’s Salesforce CRM platform by designing, building, and optimizing scalable solutions across our Salesforce clouds. You will apply strong platform engineering practice secure-by-design development, automated testing, and disciplined release management—to deliver reliable capabilities that support a global user base and integrate with enterprise systems.

You will:

  • Partners with business stakeholders, product owners, administrators, and architects to translate business needs into robust Salesforce platform solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Salesforce capabilities using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform automation best practices.
  • Build and support solutions across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud; contribute to capabilities in Field Service and Experience Cloud as needed.
  • Engineer and maintain integration between Salesforce and external systems using platform patterns (APIs, events, middleware), ensuring performance, resilience, and data integrity.
  • Improve platform maintainability by refactoring legacy implementations, reducing technical debt, and improving code quality and scalability.
  • Implement secure-by-design practices, including least-privilege access considerations, data protection, and auditability in solution design and delivery.
  • Contribute to the DevOps lifecycle (Dev → UAT/Staging → Production), including packaging, deployment readiness, and release support using approved tools and governance processes.
  • Participate in agile delivery (monthly sprint planning and regular production releases), including estimation, technical design, development, unit testing, and support for UAT and defect triage.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation (design notes, runbooks, and onboarding materials) to improve supportability and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule.
  • Report directly to the CRM Manager and work closely with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform development experience in a professional environment.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer required; Platform Developer II and/or Platform App Builder strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, declarative tools, and automation best practices (including when to use code vs configuration).
  • Proven experience delivering solutions on Sales Cloud and Service Cloud; Field Service, Manufacturing Cloud, and Experience Cloud experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns) and working with external systems and data flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to write testable, maintainable code and deliver reliable solutions in an enterprise release process.
  • Experience with Data 360 and Agentforce is a bonus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
